Have you ever thought that a home furniture could be chic if plastic and wood is combined? Thanks to the creation of Alexander Pelikan which he coined as the Plastic Nature, you may now have a very stylish and earth-friendly house furnishing. The wooden materials that were used in the Plastic Nature were all handmade. On the other hand, the plastic part of the furniture was only injected and molded. And since this is how they incorporate the plastic at the design, there would be no waste and if there are any leftovers, it can be molded easily to be used on the next piece of the furniture. How about putting this one-of-a-kind piece in your kitchen or garden? Can you consider it as one of the Earth-friendly furnitures that are flourishing in the market today?

Why do Japanese has these crazy and futuristic ideas? And they even incorporate these when building houses. Aside from the handy gadgets and electronics that are flourishing in the Japanese market, there are now also compacts shelters which they call as the Paco House.

Each and every space in the Paco House is essential. So what the architects did is to maximize it as much as they can. Want to sleep? Not a problem! A comfortable hammock can actually give you that nighty-night sleep that you’ve always wanted without the bug bites. You can also try the extra space below if you don’t want to fill it up with your stuff.

The best thing about the Paco House is that you can conceal some parts of the house such as the dining area and the toilet when not in use. This allows you to occupy the space just in case you want invite people to party with you. Aside from that, the Paco House is also equipped with biodegradable toilet which recycles water. And yeah, the house’s electricity works on wind and solar power as well.
Would you like to live in one of these? How about in the near future?

For all the nature-lovers, backpacking and resting in their RV’s or tents is the best experience of all. But why should you be contented with these shelters when you can actually rent or own a cabin that are on wheels? Can’t believe it? Check out the picture below.

These wheeled cabins were placed in a meadow, which used to be an RV park. Most of the walls were made from wood except from one side that is made fully out of glass so that the person living in the cabin can get a view of the captivating sight outside. But you are not just confined in the four corners of the cabin. You can still have a mini-veranda around it since there is a large space provided your outside-seating entertainment. Have a beer or two and watch the stars at the same time. What could be more exciting than this?

Everybody loves an inviting and a relaxing house (or at least a part of the house) where you can simply put up your feet and unwind after a long and tiring day from work. But you don’t have to spend a thousand dollars just to have this kind of ambiance. The only trick to this is the right lighting. A warm and a yellow shadey would not only create this heaven-like room but can also use to highlight the best decorations, paintings, and other things that you can put in your wall.

No matter how big or how small your room is, the right lighting will definitely give the room a tranquil and a cozy ambiance that you wish you could have in your office (while the boss taks and commands that is!).

You think only Gandalf or the hobbits of LOTR can have an Earth-friendly house? Better think again! They may have set an inspiration in the house design but they surely can’t be as natural as this one. The house where Simon Dale and his family lives was made of all-natural materials. The concrete walls of the house was made from mud and stone. The frame on the other hand was created from spare wood coming from the oak tree. Thanks to the spring nearby, the family gets their clean water supply and their water system is also nature-friendly as well. And by the way, did someone mentioned that the house actually has a compost toilet too? For sure, the pictures below are not taken from the studio of Hollywood!

The IN thing today when it comes to house design is to be minimal as you can. Thanks to the inspiration given by Japanese architects, even the workplaces are now given this minimalistic design. For the 2009 houses, these houses would only incorporate colors such as white, black, and beige.

When it comes minimalism, the natural wood flooring is your best option. This material gives that pristine space the organic warmth making the room more appealing.
But minimalism is not just for living room, kitchen, workplace, or one’s bedroom. Would you believe that it can also be used in designing bathrooms too? Of course, if you would be using this style in every part of your home, you must also use the same materials for the rest of the house as well.

Do you prefer this house design or you still opt for the more-accessorized house instead?

Thanks to the innovative design made by Dearkids, you no longer have to worry about giving your child too big or too little space for his bedroom. There are now ways to wisely use the space by putting a shoe cabinet, a bed, and a study area, all in one place.
Got twins? Don’t worry! Dearkids also has designs that would make sibling rivalry a thing of the past. They too will surely be in love with the breath-taking designs that were created for two just like this one:

It is not just the design, it is also the perky and candy colors that make this collection very unique. There is a wide array of shades of pink, yellow, orange or if you prefer, white.
You can see more of this at the Salone del Mobile furniture showcase this coming April 2009!

No, not the garden-like green house. By green, we mean an eco-friendly house. Because many people are now aware of the global warming and the effects that it bring, families are now going green. And this fight against global warming is now incorporated even in the house designs.

The key in creating a green house is the use of wood, and this must be the dominant material in building the house. It must also have spaces where you can view trees or even include trees as part of the rooms in the house. Some Green houses today even use solar panels or home wind turbines to have a more efficient energy that is not just eco-friendly but budget-friendly at the same time.

Japanese modern architecture is one of the most fascinating designs today. Some of the houses are odd-looking while others are simple astounding. The similar thing about these house styles is the minimal designs. Most of the Japanese-style houses that you can see today incorporates a clean design, spacious, and has an inviting effect which would really make you go home ASAP.
If you want to have a Japanese-inspired house, always think of the 3 factors: Earth, Wind, and Fire.
Earth – More often than not, the flooring of these houses are made from wood.
Wind – The house has a lot of windows or ventilation so that the wind can easily circulate.
Fire – Thanks to the glass window panes, walls, and alike, the sun’s rays can freely pass through the house. This makes the lighting more natural and of course, economical.
Would like to be a minimalist too when it comes to designing your house just like the Japanese?
